I am an administrator at a major university. I love to study, but am happy to venture outside the comfort of my books. I love to travel, which is something I should do more. Though I am an eternal student, it would be nice to escape from the garden of the academy from time to time. I am driven by my thirst for knowledge though I have to say that sometimes books bored the hell out of me. I believe in learning through living it up. There's nothing like losing yourself in a large city, finding new music, new parks, new cafs, new books, new friends. Not really into clubs, though I can try.

I study medieval and renaissance northern europe. I speak five languages and am set on learning as much as I can about the world around me.

I tend to be sudden and spur of the moment when having fun and hanging out. I will be the one to keep everyone up for a good chat. I'm hoping to find someone who is really spontaneous, yet centered. I do not want to hang out necessarily with other academics like myself, but that could certainly work as well. I see myself as a person who enjoys the refined, but stays away from the snobish. I like people who have an interest in their heritage, in their culture, our own American culture... someone who is aware, but not obsessed. I'm looking for someone who will just want to take off and relax from the madness of the daily schedule.

My ideal match is the eternal kid who isn't afraid to laugh at himself. A dorky moment. Silence moments. Inside jokes. Thoughtful anecdotes. Kindness and humility, though be cocky when you need to and when you deserve it.
