An ideal first date would not be a formal affair over a candle-lit dinner at a fine restaurant. I don't care for traditional, cheesy romance. Nor, however, would it be a mocha frappe at Blenz Coffee. An ideal first date would just be dinner at a nice ethnic restaurant, a stroll through Stanley Park, or even attendance of one of the many festivals that the city holds, such as the writer's festival. Even window-shopping at the public market would make for an ideal date. And ideally, we would not experience intimacy the first time out together.

My goal in life? What is this? A bloody resume? *Chuckle* My goal in life is to treat others as I would like to be treated. I just want to learn to be less egotistical, show empathy and compassion, and generally be a good person to other people. It's not very easy!

Aside from that, I want to get my education behind me once and for all. It's been a long road, but there's no turning back now. I'd like to make a difference in the lives of immigrants by helping them hone their English skills, contribute some original scholarship to the academic world, or write a novel.

Travel! I love exploring new and different places, eating the local culture's food, flanerie and dining al fresco, watching the local customs, dances, and rituals (I adore flamenco), and discovering both the fine and folk arts of the region. This may sound unoriginal, but for me, the most alluring part of the world is Britain's West Country. I love big cities and exploring the different districts, neighbourhoods, shopping, museums, restaurants,
and diverse types of people who dwell there.

I also love nature: hikes in the mountains, walks in the woods, kayaking, boating, ferry rides, isolated islands, remote cottages, small seaside towns, strolls on the beach, and eating in independently-owned seafood restaurants in small town harbours beside marinas, in the fresh sea breeze. I like to "party" on occasion, too, though *never* with drugs. I don't care if others do drugs harmlessly, but I just don't like them. If I'm coaxed (not "coked", hehe), I'll even dance!
